Anna's Hummingbird - Straight on portrait, Sun City West, AZ (December 2011)

A full frontal portrait of an Anna's Hummingbird.

See [link] for a three shot sequence illustrating the iridescence of the head feathers. Also, see [link] for this same bird blinking its eyes.

Post-processing: Cropping and sharpening with slight black clipping. No color changes (saturation, vibrance, tone curves, etc.), so this is pure WYSIWYG color-wise.

Thanks. I think 'patient with me' is probably more accurate. :)

I was taking the photos in quick succession once I was close enough to get some good shots and was lucky on several fronts (lighting, in particular).
